Weekend In Seoul Day One!

Friday morning came far to quickly after the night I had drinking and noraebanging. I only ended up getting about four hours of sleep, so actually getting out of bed was hardwork. Not only that, but I usually have a five class day on Fridays, so that makes my day even longer. However, the grade 5's were still doing level tests and I only had one grade 4 class, so the day went by a little quicker than expected. The afternoons are usually when I'm the most bored because I have no classes and when I'm tired I really just want to take a nap. Taking naps aren't possible for me when I share an office with all the other grade 6 teachers. However, I had a lesson plan due for one of the summer camps I'm doing in two weeks, so I spent the afternoon working on that and getting it submitted.
I was anxiously awaiting my teaching day to end, so I could head to Seoul yet again for the weekend. I was going to be staying over at Rudy's parent's house in Itaewon for the weekend, so after school I raced home, showered, packed my weekend bag and took a cab to the train station. The train ride takes about one and a half to two hours, so I was racing against time to make it to Itaewon by 8:30 p.m. It felt to good to finally be able to take the train to Itaewon and not get lost and I managed to make it there in decent time as well. Once I arrived in Itaewon I met up with some friends at Gecko's, Zach, Pat, Kwan, and Rob. Rudy had taken off for a couple of minutes, so we all hung out and waited for her to return, so we could go to her place and drop my bag off and do some drinking.
We cabbed to her place together and hung out for a couple of hours before we decided to head to Hongdae for the night/morning. Only Rudy, Pat, Zach and I went into Hongdae together and we met up with Marco and friends of Rudy's, Danny and Peter. We ended up hanging out in Hongdae park for about 3 hours before we decided to move along to a bar. Marco decided to take us to a hookah bar, which was really quaint and had the craziest bathroom. There were mirrors on all four sides of the bathroom, which could really send a drunk person over the top. Zach and Pat ended up taking off before we left the hookah bar, we decided to finish up our hookah and move on to the next destination. This is a picture of the bathroom in the hookah bar. Trippy!
After we left the hookah bar we headed over to the nightclub called Ska 2. I actually really like this nightclub because it plays good music, it's never overcrowded and the atmosphere is good. Although by the time we get there it is usually after 2:00 a.m. and there is hardly anyone there it still makes for a good time. I'm not a fan of crowded places, especially sweaty crowded places and it's that time of year in Korea. Ska 2 provides me with easy dance floor accessibility and we always manage to find a place to sit and chill if need be. I ended up getting hit on by so many Korean guys that night. One of them actually looked like the rock, spoke fluent English and lives about 20 minutes from me. He gave me his number and told me to call him if I wanted to experience a Korean. I told him I would think about and get back to him...um, yeah...No Thanks! Rudy, Danny, Marco and I left Ska 2 together around 5:30 a.m. and headed to 7-eleven to grab some late night/ early morning juice, water and food. Then we hung out at the 7-eleven for awhile before we headed back to the park to chill and de-toxify ourselves.
We stumbled upon the sight of this man passed out on the ledge at Hongdae Park in the wee hours of the morning. What I can't understand is why any human being would want to pass out in a pile of garbage and god knows what else leftover from the night before?!?! The sight made me want to throw-up and take a shower, but it's a regular occurrence in Hongdae on the weekends.
This is Marco, Rudy and Danny in the wee hours of the morning chilling in the park.
We parted ways with Marco around 7:30 a.m. and Rudy, Danny and I headed home. Rudy dropped me off at her parents place and then went to take Danny home. I didn't fall asleep until mid-afternoon, but when I did I ended up sleeping until 7:00 p.m.
