I have not blogged in ages, so I will update you now on all the happenings since last weeks blog. Last Wednesday there was a dinner for all the teachers at my school to celebrate the end of term and the approach of summer vacation. I only taught two grade 5 classes in the morning because all the teachers were leaving school at 1:00. We headed into Seoul to go visit the Leeum Museum, which is owned by Samsung. We got to take a tour bus, which was comfortable enough and we enjoyed watching a Korean movie about the sport handball. It's a true story based on the Athens Olympics when Korea came second to Denmark in the sport. Anyways, it was raining all day, so it was kind of gloomy, but we made it to Seoul in just over an hour.

There are two museums there, one is traditional art and one is modern/contemporary art. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take pictures inside the museum, so I only have a few photos from the outside. My favortie museum was the second one that was modern/contemporary. My absolute favorite piece of art was Andy Warhols, 45 Gold Marilyn Heads. It was remarkable and if I could have taken a picture without getting caught I would have, but since we had to check our bags before we were allowed to enter the museum I couldn't. We spent about an hour and a half at the museum before we had to head to dinner.

Before dinner the bus took us to the War Museum because we had an hour to kill before we could go to the restaurant. All of the teachers just wanted to go eat and head home, but the principal is the one in charge, so we go where he tells us. The rain had let up a bit, but we all decided to chill inside. Finally, at 6:00 we headed to dinner, which was a 5 minute walk from the War Museum. We had a delicious traditional Korean summer dish called sam ge tang. It's basically a whole chicken cooked with rice in the center and in a broth.
We only spent about an hour at dinner before we headed back to the bus to head home...But, wait...we didn't head home. The buses took us to some park in Seoul by the Han River. None of the teachers wanted to stop there, but again we had no say. We stayed about half an hour and then finally headed home. We were all so exhausted and most of us slept the entire ride home. We arrived back in Incheon around 9:30ish before Mrs. Kim chauffered and took myself and two other teachers home. It was a fun day and night, but it lasted too long and made me officially spend 13 hours with my teachers.
