I was taken to my apratment as soon as school was finished. Mrs. Kim joined Jiny and I for this part. She speaks great english and is a very nice woman. She is picking me up to drive me to school in the morning. I love being waited on, but hate feeling helpless right now.
My
apartment is great, dirty, but great. The best part is, the school provided me with sheets, pillows and blankets (sorry for the extra packing weight mom, but I think I will find a use for the blanket and sheets I brought). Jiny and Mrs. Kim made the bed for me and showed me everything I needed to know about the apartment. The only down side, no TV or internet, and it was a bit dirty. I was also provided with dishes, a CD and DVD player, a fridge and freezer, cleaning supplies and some CD's and DVD's left behind by the last teacher that lived there.
After we got me settled in my two co-teachers took me for a walk to the
market by my apartment and showed me what bus to catch to the school and where. After Mrs. Kim left, Jiny and I went back to the market and I bought $50 worth of groceries, not all food, some dish soap and detergent are included in that cost. Get this, a guy actually delivered the food to my apartment, so we didn't have to walk back with it. How great is that? Jiny bought me a flat of strawberries because she wanted to and she also treated me to dinner. Dinner was at the restaurant below my building, which is a pasta joint. So, anytime I feel homesick, I only have to walk downstairs.
Jiny had to leave right after dinner to go to the English academy, so I decided cleaning and unpacking were in order. I pretty much cleaned every part of the apartment spotless except for the floor, but that will be tomorrow's duty. After about 3 hours of cleaning I decided to take a break and come upstairs to the PC Bang and attempt to write my blog. I have already been up here for over an hour. Blog writing takes a while and I haven't even added pictures yet. I will add pictures once I get internet in my apartment. It is getting rather late here and I have a 7:00am wake-up call, plus I'm still not done cleaning or unpacking. I do have the weekend to look forward to because I think I will be meeting up with some girls I know that are here, so that is exciting. Until my next blog, I'm safe and fine, so stop worrying.

So, I love hearing about your new Korean Life. I'll have to forward this site on to my fam so they can keep in the loop. I can't wait for you to come home because it sounds like you will be very well practiced in the area of cleaning so you can come over to my place.
I also very excited for you to learn how to cook Korean food and then come back and make it for me.
I'm also going to refer to you as 'Juria' from now on. That will be your Asian name until I can think of a new one.
I still am so proud of you for being so brave... I could never be that way - so spontaneous and a little fly by the seat of my pants. I think luaren and I are very similar that way. We nee to know every deatil of everything and have things planned out.
Oh Brandy, you underestimate the power of Juria. I do not clean for free unless it is my room, house in Calgary or apartment in Korea. Second, I do not cook Korean food. I cook stir frys and bacon and eggs. Korea food is too difficult and not very tasty some days. Juria will do, they do not pronounce their "L"s so that is about right. Brave doesn't even begin to describe it. I'm terrified of getting lost on public transit. But I think you are right about the you and Lauren thing.
