Wednesday was our 5th day in Boracay and probably the nicest day we had. We decided to take a sailing trip around the Island to take advantage of the weather. We decided to go with Red Pirate Bar because they were recommended to us.
I thought this view of the road side vendors along the beach was nice.
This is a view of the beach on our way to the Red Pirate Bar.
We just showed up to the bar and they charged us 500 peso per hour (approximately US$10). They took us out right away and we started our 4 hour adventure around the Island.
This is the Red Pirate bars boat they would take us around the Island on.
We made a pit stop to snorkel about 20 minutes into the adventure. After that, the sailing trip was incredible. The boat cruised through the water and every wave it hit we would get splashed and a few times we had to hold on for dear life. We decided wearing life vests was a very smart and safe idea. About halfway through the trip we stopped for lunch on a beach on the other side of the Island. We had a beer each and re-applied suntan lotion because it was so bloody hot and the boat ride was so crazy, we got splashed, so the water washed it away.
This is just a view of all the boats docked on the beach we ate lunch at.
I noticed these two kids boating by and had to take a picture.
After lunch the boat crew took us parasailing. It is something I have always wanted to try, so why not while on the Island paradise of Boracay. Nicole also decided to parasail as well, so the two of us did it together.
Getting buckled in and preparing for take off. Nicole's face reads excitement.
We were in the sitting position waiting for the boat to carry us away.
Nicole and I taking off from the boat to experience parasailing for the first time.
Nicole and I were flying at about 500 feet high.
After the sailing trip I ended up getting really bad sunburned on my legs, so Nicole and I headed back to the hotel to take a nap and cool off in the air conditioned room. When we finally woke-up we showered and got ready for a night out, again. Nicole and I were craving pizza, so we found a restaurant that served delicious pizza. We enjoyed pizza and beer before heading back to Summer Place to start the dance party.
These are my new Korean friends I met at Summer Place. They were super nice and very sweaty. *Please take note of how red my legs are from my sunburn earlier that day.*
Mhokz, the Summer Place bartender I thought was cute and myself finally get a picture together.
Mary (a girl we met our first night in Boracay, also a teacher in Korea), Nicole and I at Summer Place putting on our best Korean poses.
Nicole, Mary and I joined my new Korean friends at their table.
Thursday was our last day in Boracay, so we wanted to utilize the day the best we could. We headed down to the other end of the beach and had breakfast at Nigi Nigi Nu Nu's.
We decided to take some pictures while we waited for our food.
This statue at the restaurant was really beautiful, so I took a picture.
When we finished with breakfast we headed back towards our area of the beach to do a little shopping. We didn't buy much because we weren't really in the shopping mood and it was a scorcher of a day. After a few hours we headed back to our hotel and chilled out on the balcony while we played the 1,2,3 game.
A picture of our awesomeness while we played was necessary.
It started to rain during our chill out session, so we headed into the room. The rain then turned into a torrential downpour, which caused a power outage. That is when we decided to turn on the emergency light and take crazy pictures.
If this picture of Nicole doesn't terrify you, I don't know what will.
I was a monkey jumping on the bed and I look like I have no right foot.
Here is a brief video of just how bad the torrential rain was that caused the blackout:
Thursday night went out with a bang because it was our last night in Boracay, please see next blog.
