The Philippines: Hello Manila, Hello Boracay!!

Summer vacation this year was spent with Nicole in the Philippines. We decided we wanted this vacation to be very chill and relaxed, so we flew into Manila and spent less than 24 hours there. We basically, just spent the day Saturday shopping before heading to Boracay, which really is an Island paradise. We spent 7 days in Boracay before heading to Cebu where we also spent less than 24 hours before flying back to Korea. Instead of writing a BIG blog about all the things that happened in the Philippines, I will explain through pictures, because they are far more exciting. Here is my summer vacation trip to the Philippines in order the events took place:
Nicole enjoying her first taste of the local beer, San Miguel, at a local hangout.
Showing off the bucket of San Miguel we ordered at about 2AM our first night in Manila.
A view from the roof of our hotel in Manila.
Nicole and went shopping at a giant market in Manila, we regret not buying more while we were there.
Saturday night we headed to Boracay. We had to fly from Manila to Kalibo and then take about a two hour bus ride to Calicutt and from there we had to take a 15 minute boat ride to Boaracay.
This tribal statue was in the Kalibo airport, so I decided to get a picture and see what I would look like dressed in traditional clothes...not too shabby.
There was a really bad storm on our way to Boracay, so we didn't know if the boats would still be taking people to Boracay. After waiting about 20 minutes for a decision we finally headed to Boracay on, let me just say, a boat that seemed less than safe.
Life jackets were definitely a must and you can see by the look on my face how terrified I was of capsizing.
These are some of the foreigners we befriended on our journey. We looked like prisoners in transport.
Once we arrived in Boracay we looked for a place to stay and once we found one we got showered, changed and headed out for some dinner and drinks.
Nicole and I looking fabulous and ready for our first night out in Boracay.
We met up with some friends we met on the ride over and ate dinner at this delicious restaurant where we ordered fresh seafood and enjoyed it BBQ'd.
After we finished dinner we decided to check out some bars that my cousin Scott recommended. We started at Summer Place and then headed to Juice Bar, where we received loads of FREE drinks after telling two of the employees we knew Scott.
Sean (we met him on the plane ride to Kalibo and he got us to Boracay), with Nicole and I at Juice Bar.
We bumped into this guy outside the bathrooms at Juice Bar and he had no shame in telling us, He was SO gay. He told us over and over and over and over.
Nicole poses - gay guy copies, making this picture awesome!
We ended up staying out until close to 6AM on our first night in Boracay, but it was absolutely awesome and the parties never stopped.
