Sunday morning came far too soon. Since, we didn’t get to bed until 6:00 a.m. we only got about 3 hours sleep before we had to be up and head to the bus, so Lauren could catch her flight to China. We ended up having to wait 20 minutes for the bus and then the bus ride was so hot and bumpy. Lauren was felling sick, a.k.a hung over, so the bus ride was torture for her. When we got to the airport Lauren spent a good deal of time in the bathroom getting sick and then she was the last person to check-in for her flight to Beijing. On top of that, she had to catch her flight all the way at the new terminal, so she had to take the monorail there and it would take about 30 minutes, so she would just make it in time for boarding. The good-bye was hard and we both almost burst into tears, but I know I’m going to see her in June when I go home for a visit, so that put us at ease. Once I said good-bye to her, I hopped on a bus to head home and get ready for the John Legend concert. The bus ride was about 2 hours, so I had just enough time to go home, change and then I had to head into Seoul for the concert, where I would meet up with Carmela. It sucked that the concert was at 6:00 p.m. on a Sunday night and all the way at the end of Seoul, which took me 2 hours to get to. However, it was worth the travel time, the money and being tired for school Monday morning.
Carmela and I excited for the concert to start. I was doing my best to look alive, but I felt like death.
We had the cheap seats, but because of the size of the venue and where our seats were located we had a pretty fabulous view of John Legend.
Our view of John Legend from our 55,000 won seats. I think they were pretty good.
The man himself, John Legend on the big screen.
It was unfortunate that the concert was only about 90 minutes, I would have loved to hear him play some more songs, but he didn’t. I also wonder how much of the show the Koreans actually understood. They were really into his slow, love ballad songs and knew most of the chorus's, but how hard is it really to "LISTEN and REPEAT?"
The show had to end at some point. Here John Legend says, 'Goodbye' to his Korean fans.
Since, my co-teacher, Enee, was at the concert as well, she gave me a ride home because we live 5 minutes away from each other. Enee, her friend and I went for some food after the concert before heading back to Incehon. Since, Seoul traffic is always so busy, it took us well over an hour to get back to Incheon. I fell asleep for a good portion of the car ride and was very happy to see my bed when I finally got home.
