Good-Bye 2008!! Hello 2009!!

My school decided to give me New Year's Eve day off, so I took advantage and I slept in, obviously. I had to meet up with Lindsay to pick up some clothes that she ordered for me online. Afterward, I decided to walk home and then headed to the convenience store to pick up some soju and mix for the evening festivities. I showered, cooked myself a delicious meal, drank, and got ready. Nicole and Mike came over for some pre-drinks before we had to head into Itaewon for our dinner reservations.
Damien met Nicole, Mike and I on the rapid in to Seoul. We made it to our dinner reservations just in time. The other friends we were meeting arrived ahead of us. We had dinner at Thai Garden.

The delicious food that Mike, Nicole and I shared at Thai Garden. It was YUMMY!!

Carmela was sitting at another table at Thai Garden, but that didn't stop us from taking this great picture together.

After dinner, Nicole and Mike headed back to Incheon, while Heidi, Damien, myself and some other friends headed to the City Hall area to see what sort of New Year's events were taking place. Heidi and I got separated from the others, so we decided to just hang out at City Hall for a bit, but it was really cold and the events taking place were really boring, so we decided to hop in a cab and head to Hongdae around 11:30 p.m.

Heidi and I freezing our knickers off outside at City Hall.

Once Heidi and I got to Hongdae we headed to Jane's Groove because they had no cover charge and it's actually a fun bar. We hung out there for the countdown and danced and drank. A friend from Incheon was hanging out upstairs at the Rocky Mountain Tavern, so I went up there for a bit to say HI.

Tim and I at Rocky Mountain Tavern. We were representing Incheon!!

I didn't hang out upstairs for too long because Heidi was downstairs waiting for me. We drank and danced a bit more at Jane's Groove before we decided to change venues.

Heidi wanted to go this club called, Via, but they wouldn't let her in with the code she was sent. Since, we didn't want to pay the cover charge we headed to, Sensation, which was a nice relaxing lounge. We hung out there for a while until we were ready to dance again. I wanted to say good-bye to my friend at RMT, but when I got there he had already gone home drunk. BUT, I did bumped into my friend Alison who use to live in my area in Incheon until she headed to Seoul to teach.

Alison and I at RMT. It had been months since we had seen each other, so the NYE reunion was great.

Heidi and I had one drink at RMT before we headed back to Jane's Groove and I happen to bump into my friends from Incheon that we had lost at City Hall. Heidi was getting tired and wanted to call it a night, so I told her to head home and I would just head home to Incheon with my friends. We all left Jane's Groove around 5:30 a.m. and headed for the subway. I was home and in bed before 7:30 a.m., which is a record when heading home after a night out in Hongdae.
