Taiwan: Korea Follows Us!!

Saturday night Scott took Nicole and I too a bar called Roxy. Forgetting that I wasn't in Korea, I didn't bring any I.D. with me, but the bouncer was super nice and told me to just remember it next time...oops! The bar happened to be one train stop away from our hostel, so that was convenient for cabbing home later. The bar required you to make reservations in order to get a seat, but we were just as content standing because that is the best way to dance.
Nicole and I loving the atmosphere at Roxy, which consisted of a load of foreigners. Showing our awesomely amazing tour guide, Scott, a little affection. We made an awesome trio because we are all so very different. We are clearly having the time of our lives...enough said. P.S. I love people who love getting their picture taken...Scott. Aren't we a lovely bunch??...except for maybe the guy in the front.
The best part of the night definitely had to be when Scott took us to the gay club, which was just around the corner from Roxy. Nicole and I were the only straight people in the entire bar, which made it even more fabulous.
We met the nicest, cutest, sweetest gay couple ever. I only wish I had remembered their names for future.
The night ended for Nicole and I at the gay bar. We headed back to our hostel, but not without a quick stop at McDonalds.
Sunday morning came early, but we decided to just sleep in and get up when we were ready. When we finally got moving we headed to the end of Taipei to Danshei. It is the area along the ocean that you can bike, walk, etc. It is filled with shops, street food, entertainers, etc.
In case you don't know, I have an addiction to ice cream. It needed to be fulfilled. This ice cream seemed the perfect size to feed that addiction. A view across the ocean. It was another beautiful day in Taipei. One of the very crowded streets of Taipei. This was still in Danshei.
When we had finished with the Danshei area we headed to Shilin Night Market, which was recommended to us by all of our friends that have been to Taiwan. It is the biggest outdoor market in Taipei and it was packed. We were hungry for dinner at this point, so we had to decide what street vendor we wanted to eat at. We decided on an Indian Place that made beef, chicken, vegetable, and fish curry wraps. Now, we all know I hate curry, so I opted for the beef option because it seemed less curry filled. Turns out the wrap was absolutely delicious and is definitely high onthe list of foods I love.
Here is the Indian place we chose to eat dinner at. The line was pretty long. A look at the crowd of people enjoying the market and this was a Sunday night. F.Y.I. The shopping here was fabulous!
We were told to try the fried chicken at the night market because it would be the best fried chicken we ever tasted. Our source did not lie. We took one bit each and were in heaven. It was absolutely DELICIOUS!! I would go back just for this. It also was the biggest line at the market.
Here is a picture of it for your viewing pleasure...Now, wipe up the drool. We couldn't resist taking a photo of this bus because it has the hit drama "Boys Over Flowers" from Korea on it. It was debuting in Taiwan, so we thought it was cool to see it advertised and it is good for Korea as well. We also noticed that on every single train we took for the 5 days we were in Taiwan had ads for, 'Super Junior.' They are also from Korea.
A brief over view of who they are: They are a 13 member boy pop group (yes, 13 memebers you read correctly) who have just made a comeback and their first single is a catchy and addicting song called, Sorry Sorry...we came to the conclusion that there is no escaping Korea even when you are out of the country.
We returned to the area of Taipei we enjoyed with Scott drinking beers on a patio. Nicole and I really liked it there, so we ended our Sunday night there before heading back to the hostel.
