The Parentals Have Arrived!
Ok, so it's been a few days since I've blogged because I got really busy this past week. First of all, my parents arrived Tuesday to visit me in Korea for three weeks. It was really exciting seeing them at the airport, but I was really nervous and anxious waiting for them. It didn't actually seem like it had been 7 months since I last saw them. Before we headed to my apartment we grabbed some food at the airport. I had some kimchi pancake and had my parents try it. They liked it, but it was too spicy for my dad.
I didn't book any time off of school while my parents are here, so I had to teach every day last week while they were here. They just spent Wednesday sleeping and taking it easy because of the jet lag and huge time difference. We ate dinner at home Wednesday night and then headed over to Lotte Mart, so I could show them the big grocery store in the area and afterward we headed over to Beer Story for some beer.
Thursday I sent my parents to Incheon Grand Park while I was teaching, so they would have something to do for the day and it was a beautiful fall day, so enjoying the weather and the beauty of the park in fall was a must. After school I headed home and went for a quick work-out at the gym before heading home and getting ready to head out for galbi Thursdays. I brought mom and dad along for galbi, so they could try it and meet my friends. Tracy, Carolina and Holly were the only ones who came for galbi, but Nick and Nicole joined us afterward at Mad Max where we had a few drinks and chatted. Dad was nice enough to take care of the drinks and he got a free gift from the owner of Mad Max. It was a stuffed pumpkin wearing a Guiness hat. He was thrilled, since he loves Guiness. We headed home in time to catch the last bus and get to bed relatively early.
Friday went by quick at school. I was finished teaching at noon, so I had the whole afternoon off until my teacher's class at 3:00 p.m. I sent my parents to the War Museum just down the street from my house, so they wouldn't sit at home bored all day. After school we met at Dongmak station and we walked to E-Mart, so I could show them the other grocery store and so we could buy some groceries for dinner. We had a delicious spaghetti and salad meal with some wine and beer before I headed to meet Carolina to get ready for the Halloween Party. *I will blog about Halloween in a separate blog*
