Bad Behaviour!

Just thought I would update you on how my week has been going so far. It has been rather busy at school because it's only a four day week due to Chuseok coming up. I have two 6 class days and one 4 class day so far. I have pretty much been working from 9:00 a.m. - 2: 40 p.m. with just over 90 minutes to myself in the afternoons. The students have been very rowdy and misbehaved this week especially the grade 6's. We started a new lesson last week called "How was your Vacation?" so basically the students have just been discussing what they did for summer vacation. Having them come to me in the English Zone has been great, but they are more out of control because the room is bigger and they sit at tables together, so they have more freedom. The boys are definitely the worst and I do my best to discipline them, but they don't listen. Jiny is usually good to discipline the students, but they have even been too much work for her to handle. I'm really hoping that it doesn't stay like this for the next 6 months or I might go crazy. They run around the classroom, they yell, they fight, they throw things and yesterday when one class was working on an art project these boys started attacking each other with markers and one kid ended up with it all over his face. I pretty much had it at that point, so I went up to their table grabbed the markers out of their hands and took them away. I felt like I was dealing with a bunch of 5 year olds and even then I've seen 5 years old with better behaviour. I can't believe some of the stuff the students get away with here during class, if it was back home they would get detention, parents would be called, etc. Monday night Tracy, Nick, Holly, Nicole and I headed out for our weekly shabu shabu. After dinner Nicole and I decided to head out for one beer. Well, we went to Mad Max and one beer turned into about 4 each plus a pitcher. Once we started playing some songs on the jukebox we couldn't stop, so we had to keep buying beer until we heard all of our songs. It definitely wasn't the smartest thing to do considering we had to work the next day and didn't leave Mad Max until 2 a.m. Tuesday was a rather calm day. I walked home from school and then met up with Nick, Damien, Andrea, Mike 1, Mike 2 and Nicole for some ribs. The ribs are delicious, but expensive, so we don't eat them very often. Today was a very quick day at school. I had 4 classes and they went by super fast. With the grade 6's doing arts and crafts I pretty much worked on the computer during those classes and teaching the grade 3's is always breezy. However, I'm working with a new grade 3 English teacher because Mrs. Kim has moved to America for an English course. The new teacher is very shy, doesn't like to speak English to much because she doesn't think she's good and her discipline towards the students is lacking, so it can be hard to work with her. I'm constantly raising my voice to be heard and the students are so loud, so it gets to hard to hear myself think and she isn't helping me calm them down, so it can be frustrating. Lucky for me, today I got to leave school at 1 p.m. along with the rest of the grade 6 co-teachers. Jiny told me if the principal or vice-principal asked we went to "the Park," but we all just went to our houses. I have one more day left this week and then I get Friday - Tuesday off for Chuseok, which is Korean Thanksgiving, so I'm very excited for Friday to come because I will be leaving Incheon and heading to Mt. Seoraksan for my five day weekend along with 9 of my friends. It should be a great time.
